The annual event, now in its 23rd year, owed much of its success to the area's natural resources, which are considered the best in the world for sand sculpting events. The 23rd Annual American Sandsculpting Championship & Beach Festival proved to be the best ever. This year, sixteen of the world's best Master Sculptors, along with Florida State and Amateur Sculptors, united on Fort Myers Beach to create their imaginatively stunning works of art from the fine, sugar-white sand of Fort Myers Beach. The combined lineup of Master Sculptors participating this year, hold an amazing 36 World Sandsculpting Champion Titles.
