Turkish Festival

For the first time in its history, the festival was 2 days with Houston Azerbaijanis and Bosnian Community of Houston as our partners. TUANA Folk Dance & Art Club from Turkey mesmerized everyone in attendance with their performances of whirling dervishes, folk dances from various regions of Turkey in colorful costumes. They also presented Turkey and ATA-Houston at the Bayou City Arts Festival. Baris, as last year, entertained everyone with popular Turkish songs. Azerbaijani musicians, Rahman Assadollahi and Tahir Guliyev added color to the festival. Elgun Guliyev with his powerful voice and Tarana Kara with her exquisite piano playing shared Turkish and Azerbaijani favorites with the audience. In addition to STAR TV, local media (Houston Press, KPFT, CW 39) was there.
