South Texas Wildlife & Birding Festival

Thu, Nov 18th, 2010
1501 Highway 77
Kingsville, TX

Whether you are young or old, a hunter, fisherman, gardener, bird watcher or just love the outdoors, the 11th Annual South Texas Wildlife & Birding Festival is for you. The Kingsville area is in several major migratory paths and has documented well over 450 species of birds. Tours for bird & wildlife watching will be available on King, Kenedy, and La Copita Ranches. There will also be a photography seminar, a stargazing tour complete with a campfire and marshmallow roast, and an overnight stay at La Copita Ranch. Free nature-related seminars will be offered daily. A variety of children’s crafts, exhibits, and activities will be available each day. The Texas A&M-Kingsville Anglers will teach the youth about fishing and conservation. Visit with Texas State Zoo and their native animal exhibit for a close-up view of the animals that live and thrive here in South Texas. Valley Nature Center will have live butterflies and caterpillars on display and the “Last Chance Forever” Birds of Prey show will be performing. Don’t miss this opportunity to see and feel these magnificent creatures as they soar through the air!
