North Shore Kidney WalkSat, Feb 19th, 2011Fontainebleau State Park Mandeville, LA On Saturday, February 19, 2011 the National Kidney Foundation of Louisiana invites you to join us for the North Shore Kidney Walk. The Walk is 3 mile course around Fontainebleau State Park. Registration will begin at 8:00 AM with the walk starting at 9:30 AM. The Kidney Walk is an occasion for the entire community including those affected by kidney disease, transplant recipients, dialysis patients, living donors, friends, physicians and Foundation supporters. This is an opportunity for all to be bonded together on the quest of making lives better. Funds raised from the Kidney Walk will help support the following public education programs and patient services: *Summer camp for children on dialysis *Emergency Financial Aid for dialysis and transplant patients *Free medic alert tag jewelry *Free health screenings for individuals at risk for kidney disease *Education and support programs for kidney disease patients and their families *Promotion of organ donation *Research grants and fellowships to physicians dedicated to finding a cure for chronic kidney disease
