Quiet Valley's Harvest FestivalSat, Oct 10th, 2009Stroudsburg, PA See various demonstrations that will explain the meaning of old fashion sayings that were very familiar to our grandparents. A folk saying could be used such as, “the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree.” Many folk phrases had a moral attached to them to help teach you something. “A stitch in time saves nine” was a saying that would remind your daughters to repair a tear in clothing right away before it got to be an even bigger job. Visitors will have a chance to guess the meaning of many popular and unusual clichés.
