Louisiana Swamp Stomp FestivalFri, Mar 12th, 2010 to Sun, Mar 14th, 2010Nichols State Thibodaux, LA Louisiana Swamp Stomp Festival, Nicholls' Spotlight on Cajun Culture Returns. After a banner debut in 2009, the Swamp Stomp Festival is back at Nicholls State University to showcase the local joie de vivre. The festival puts the spotlight on Cajun and Zydeco music, local cuisine, locally-made arts and crafts, and other cultural pursuits. The Bayou French Tent, for which admission is free, will display an exhibit promoting the bounties of bayou life and the French language that is still spoken in south Louisiana. $10 per day or $25 for the weekend; free for children eleven and under. Festival gates open at 3 pm on Friday, March 12, and at 11 am on Saturday and Sunday. Entrance is in the parking lot adjacent to John L. Guidry Stadium.
